Immortals announce ‘name change’
From their inception in 2008 (MySpace anyone???), both Duplicuts and El Da Sensei started experimenting with their sound by combining the East Coast-flavored Boom bap beats that El has become known for with genres like Drum & Bass. This ‘project’ proved artistically interesting to both hence the name, “The Immortals Project”.
Fast forward a decade or so and the duo have released a critically acclaimed album, performed at festivals like NXNE, and went on to win the prestigious Independent Music Award in best Rap song category for “On the Rise”. After having such success and putting together their next album tentatively titled “Hard Bottom Season”, they both felt that they had really gelled a lot more as a unit. They both agreed that this isn’t just a ‘project’ any longer. They’ve grown artistically, they’ve grown musically, and they’ve become an even stronger unit. Hence, Mighty Immortals.
So with a rebranding of their name & logo, Dup & El will soon be dropping hammers and gems on these internet streets!
