Originally coming together in 2008, Duplicuts & El Da Sensei formed Mighty Immortals (then known as “The Immortals Project”) and released their self-titled debut EP with a special guest appearance by the legendary Craig G (Juice Crew, ‘8 Mile’ Eminem Movie). From the shattering mercurial rhythms of ‘Break Boys’ to the epic beat-fest that is the Drum & Bass laced ‘Count It Off’, the EP is a sweltering synthesis of street rhythms and Hip hop science.
In 2013 the duo released their first full-length album ‘Rogue Agents’. Duplicuts would go on to produce the album’s musical direction which was brooding anxiousness, sonic eloquence, along with El Da Sensei’s laser-guided lyricism. Enlisting a select crew of heavy hitters to assist the 12-track opus and help flesh out the Rogue Agents squadron, this time around El & Duplicuts recruited the assistance of Sadat X (Brand Nubian), Kool Keith (Ultramagnetic MC’s), John Robinson (AKA Lil Sci from Scienz Of Life), Craig G (from the legendary Juice Crew) and NJ phenom rapper/producer Internal Quest. The album has spawned 3 top 5 singles with “Pass It Off” reaching #1 in the country on the independent charts, as well as “On The Rise” winning the award for “Best Rap/Hip-hop” song at the prestigious Independent Music Awards.
Currently working on their next album ‘Hard Bottom Season’, the Mighty Immortals continue to create cinematic transformations of the beats and vivid lyricism they’ve become known for… no-gimmick Hip hop music.
